Post Details:
The Petergate Surgery was started in the 1920s and aims to provide modern primary care with traditional family practice values.
There are approximately 6200 patients.
There are four partners:
- Dr Judith Greenwood
- Dr David Hammond
- Dr Mandeep Ahluwalia
- Dr Jane Inwood
Dr Ahluwalia is the GP trainer. All the partners are fully involved and committed to training. It is important to all the partners that GP registrars get a full experience of being a GP both from a clinical and non clinical point of view. Registrars are welcome to all partners meetings so they can gain an understanding of the management and business side of general practice.
There is a one to two week induction where the registrar will get to meet and sit in with all the members of the practice team.
It is hoped that by the end of the placement with the practice that the registrar will have gained a real understanding of General Practice, met all the e portfolio requirements and will have enjoyed being part of the practice.
Dr Ahluwalia also is a hospital practioner in Dermatology and is a tutor on the AKT preparation course for the nMRCGP.
Dr Greenwood’s interests include Women’s Health and children’s health.
Dr Hammond’s interests include Diabetes and children’s health.
Dr Inwood also does a nENT session in the hospital.
All partners are involved in teaching HYMS medical students at the practice.
