This is another large practice with a list size of 20,500 patients, working from four separate premises, although the GP Registrar only works from two. The practice covers a mixture of urban and rural areas, encompassing an area of over 80 square miles. A small part of the Practice is dispensing. The main centre is the Haxby Health Centre, which houses a large compliment of ancillary and attached staff.
There are currently 4 trainers: with Nicky Jackson having just successfully completed her training to be a trainer in 2011.
The practice is also involved with teaching 1st and 4th years HYMS students.
More recently the Practice has won APMS contracts to provide primary care services with 3 surgery sites in Hull. The development of a Pharmacy through a separate private company is currently under way.
The computer system is System 1 and the practice has been paper light for almost 20 years.
There is a large amount of in house expertise including Dermatology, Neurology and Paediatrics. GPRs also have the opportunity to attend LMC meetings.
