Award-winning, purpose-built premises completed in January 1993 form the centre of the Practice, with two dispensing Branch Surgeries, at the villages of Carlton and Riccall.
The total Practice area covered is more than 120 square miles, with a population of 15,800 patients for 7 Partners and salaried doctors; a total of around 10 whole time equivalent doctors in 2016.
This training practice since 1995 is involved in training both year 4 and year 5 medical students from Hull York Medical School (HYMS). We have several attributes that registrars repeatedly find attractive and beneficial:
- Two dispensing branch surgeries giving a slightly different perspective on general practice.
- Responsibility for a minor injuries unit and GP beds at the local community hospital (Selby War Memorial Hospital).
- A new bypass which opened in Spring 2004 making travel to and from Selby fairly straightforward.
- A great practice team.
- Team commitment to training not just the nominated trainer.
- High standards of clinical care with a central ethos to enjoy both professional and personal life.
The nominated trainers are Nigel Wells, Vikas Gupta and Kirsty Suddes.
These enthusiastic trainers will do their best to ensure that trainees have a rewarding time at Beech Tree Surgery.
