The Rotations

Our rotations comprised of six, six-month posts; 18 months in secondary care and 18 months in General Practice.

The final ST3 year is usually spent in General Practice.

Two of the York Moors and coast rotations have 24 months in General Practice.

Secondary Care Posts

These are all based at York Hospital

Posts are for six months

Posts are available in the following specialties; A&E,Elderly Medicine, ENT, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Psychiatry

Hospice post

This post is at Leonard’s Hospice in York.

General Practice posts

There are 38 trainers based in 15 York training practices The majority of practices are with in the outer ring road, extending to Selby in the south, Green Hammerton in the west, Kirby Moorside in the north and Malton to the east

Secondary care posts

These are based at Scarborough Hospital Posts are for six months

Posts are available in the following specialties; A&E, Elderly Medicine, ENT, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Psychiatry

Current trainees have successfully negotiated travel expenses from their home address to work (or a contribution towards accommodation costs)

Hospice post

This post is at St Catherine’s Hospice, Scarborough.

General Practice posts

There are 15 trainers based in 8 Moors and Coast training practices
We are currently investigating whether trainees can claim a contribution towards additional travel expenses
