Abbey Medical Group, York

The practice is located near the city centre of York and has a population of 11,500 patients, with relatively few in socio-economic groups II and I. The list always includes a number of children on the ‘at risk’ register, travellers, and families with multiple social problems, university students and staff. All seven partners are involved in training. The practice teaches medical students from HYMS years 2, 3 and 5.

Parkview Surgery

A full range of clinics is offered, including minor ops, babies and maternity. Some other commitments include two community units for the elderly, Woodlands multiple sclerosis respite care centre and York medical society wine club.

The practice is fully computerised and is very forward thinking and modern in its approach. We use new technology including GP2GP electronic transfer of patient records, Choose and Book web based referral system, online appointments and prescription ordering and a new fully functional website that offers a great service to our patients. We have three surgeries situated on Tang Hall Lane, Millfield Avenue and Victoria Way in Huntington. The practice has now been involved in training for over 20 years and one of our senior partners is a former trainee.

Tang Hall Surgery

The GP speciality trainees will be given the opportunity to experience out of hours work as three of the partners still do this and are happy to take trainees from the surgery.

Our Registrars have a 100% pass rate for MRCGP. We are embracing the challenges of nMRCGP. We place great emphasis on making GP training relaxed, enjoyable and interesting. We welcome any trainee wishing to come and conduct a full medical on us before choosing their training practice.
