Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
The pace of change in General Practice seems to ever speed up.
Demands on our time, knowledge and skills seem to ever increase also.
In these days, post-Shipman, Bristol and Alder Hey, society demands greater accountability from us.
GP Appraisal, Revalidation and the expectation that we will keep Portfolios, as evidence of our CPD, are now givens.
GMS has given way to nGMS and PMS.
But help is at hand!
As GP Tutors in Yorkshire, we have produced 2 new innovations:
Development Without Tears (DWT) Available both as a paper resource (from Barbara Higginson, PGMC) and also over the web http://www.john-lord.net/gp/dwt/all_the_guides.doc A series of 2-minute guides to make a PDP relevant to you and “tear-free”
Revalidation Without Tears (RWT) Facilitated small groups of colleagues providing not only the help and support to each other re PDPs, but also the essential ingredient of peer support.
